Happy September 1st!!
As the Summer ends (for everyone except us Floridians) and Fall starts to creep in, I like to use this time to reflect on the past few months. I think about the changes that have taken place in my life and how I, personally, have grown. I consider the obstacles I have had to overcome and I question if I am headed in the right direction.
At times, you may need to re-evaluate where you are headed and the people you surround yourself with. I have dealt with a lot in the past year. Between break-ups, miscarriage, depression, switching jobs, changing cities and then back again – I have been through it! You hear me? But still I rise…
I had to learn that not everyone will understand the decisions that you make and it is not their business. Your life is your own. No one has the right to tell you what is right or wrong, because what is right for them may not work for you and vice versa.
Some days will be rough and rainy, but I encourage you to smile through it all. Do NOT let setbacks or negativity keep you from being great. Do NOT let anyone tell you that you CANNOT do something. On numerous occasions, I have beaten the odds and have mastered things that people said I could not do. And because of that, my faith is stronger than it has ever been. Things that used to upset me, just roll right off my back.
I have learned from a friend that in life it is going to either be YOU or ME and I will always make sure it is ME. I will win and I will not allow myself to fall so far down that I cannot pick myself back up.
The month of September will be a month of transition for me. Like the leaves on the trees turning from green to orange – I will be transitioning into a new home and finally getting settled into my new job. I, too, will be turning a new leaf.
Thankfully, I have a small but amazing support system. They are a group of people who always check on me and I can call them whenever I need an ear. I sincerely thank you all for being there for me and I am still not sure how to repay you.
Here are 12 Things to Remember and ways to help you overcome or even avoid the anxiety of having to deal with changes, negativity, or just life in general. I stole this from my friend Eboni. Thanks girl!
I just wanted to leave this note here for you all. Know that I love you and I am here for you. Stay tuned for some amazing updates this Fall and if there is anything in specific you want to see, leave me a comment below.
Have an amazing holiday weekend and be safe!
