Living in Orlando, Florida can have a lot of perks. We have lots of theme parks, such as Disney, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios; lots of shopping malls, and a ton of beaches. This is the hottest city for tourist to come to when they want to get away from the cold (pun intended).
So where do the locals hang out, when it’s just a regular shmegular day? What about date night? Where does one go in Orlando? Well…there is your usual spots like Red Lobster or Dave and Buster’s. There is also a new place called Main Event where you can go to bowl, play games, laser tag, and eat.
Aside from those well-known locations, here are some my favorite places to go on Date Night with my beau. I am all for mom & pop spots and places that have a lot of culture and good crowds. I am also a HUGE advocate for great food and an even better drink selection. So let’s get to it…
Anyone I have ever taken to this place, never leaves disappointed. The food is so delicious, spicy, and affordable. This is great for date night, because you can share plates with each other. That means you can order more dishes on the menu. 🙂
The even have a great beer selection. Located right on Mills, it is ideal for those who like small loud places, which would require you to get intimate.
#2 The Whiskey
I have only been here once, but I have been wanting to go back ever since. The Whiskey is known for their uniquely crafted burgers and live music. This spot is located in Dr. Phillips off of Sand Lake Rd. I highly recommend the Salty Pear burger. This is another small and at times loud spot, but who cares when the food is good.
Located off of Conway and Hoffner, this is a quiet spot tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the Orlando tourists. This is a great date night spot, if you want to have some quiet time with your lovey. Known as a “freshtaurant” – everything the menu is fresh and from local farms (when available). Even the ketchup is homemade.
This is me and bae’s favorite spot! We mostly visit the Lee Vista location, because the waiters are awesome, but they have spots all over Orlando. We have been at least once a week this month – enjoying their Nawlins’ menu for Mardi Gras. Their shrimp and crab “nacho” plate is a must! The shrimp and grits are also super delicious.
I had the pleasure of touring this beautiful place a few weeks ago. If you are looking for somewhere to go after dinner, I would definitely recommend checking this spot out. You can sip wine, eat cheese and crackers, and even get a tour of the winery. Every 2nd Friday of the month, they stay open late and offer a featured food truck with live music.
Bonus: If you are ever in Tampa (Westshore Plaza to be exact), you MUST check out my favorite Mexican restaurant called Besito. The food here is to die for! It is so authentic and flavorful. It is a little pricey, but totally worth it.
